Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) An event held to combat bullying and provide equality takes place this weekend.
CSI's newly formed student club, Spectrum, is putting on a show entitled Dudes and Darlings: A Benefit Night of Drag'.
The club provides a safe place for anyone with different sexual orientations. Those include people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, questioning or straight.
Proceeds will benefit leadership training for Spectrum members at the Power of One Convention in Boise.
Meanwhile, funds raised from the silent auction will go to the Twin Falls School District Foundation for anti–bullying programs.
Christina McFarling, the event coordinator says, "we wanted to put on a big event that Twin Falls isn't really used to having all the time, but they've had before. And then we wanted to give back to the community so we figured that something that really relates to our club is we have a lot of problems with bullies."
The drag show is coming up on Saturday, February 2nd at the CSI Student Union Building, from 6-9 p.m.
You can purchase tickets in advance for $8 if you're a student, and it's $10 for non–students. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org or buy them at the door for $12.
If you want to participate in the contest, you'll be charged a $15 entry fee.
