Driver Runs Into Burley Street Sweeper Then Leaves The Scene Of The Accident

Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - An investigation continues by the Cassia County Sheriff’s office after a Ford Ranger collided in the rear of a City of Burley street sweeper. The driver of the Ranger later fled on foot before police arrived. The accident was reported at 6:15 Thursday morning. According to the sheriff’s report the operator of the street sweeper said the ranger ran into the rear end of his equipment. The driver of the ranger then ran from the scene of the accident. Authorities say they are searching for the driver of the Ford. The suspect has an active warrant according to authorities. The owner of the Ranger first said the vehicle was stolen but has yet to file a report according to the sheriff’s office. Charges of leaving the scene of an accident and driving while suspended are pending against the driver of the Ranger. Idaho’s First News will release the name of the driver once an arrest is made.
