Dump Hunger Drive Ends Soon
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Western States Equipment In Twin Falls is wrapping up its fifth annual "Dump Hunger" drive tomorrow.
Western States, Albertson's grocery stores, and the Salvation Army have all teamed up for the effort. The goal was to fill five full size CAT dump trucks. They managed to gather 7500 pounds of food last year. So far this year, they've rounded up almost 9300 pounds of food for the Dump Hunger effort. Gordy Gates with Western States Equipment says, "This is the biggest cause we've ever had in our Western States store for helping the community. It helps the Salvation Army fill their pantries, it helps the hungry get fed. Couldn't ask for a better Magic Valley get-together." So far Dump Hunger has gathered almost 229,000 pounds of food in Southern Idaho. The Twin Falls Salvation Army is also accepting cash donations. Each dollar given will buy five pounds of food.
