Eagle Scout Makes 'Weighted' Blankets
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) An Eagle Scout's little sister inspired him to make some special quilts.
He presented 15 quilts to Primary Therapy Source to help children with sensory issues sleep better. Every other pocket in each quilt has "Poly Pellets," that wrap the kids in a warm hug.
Eagle Scout Darin Tschida says, "If they get all riled up and anxious, you just lay it on them. And it calms them down, it's really comforting for them. At night you can lay it over them and it keeps them safe."
He says his mother came up with the idea to make the weighted blankets. They originally planned on making 30 of them, until they realized how much work it was, and made only 15.
