Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Monday is the first day of early voting for the May primaries.

The early voting office is located at the County West building on the first floor.

Many candidates were out Monday afternoon encouraging voters to get to the polls.

We spoke to two of them about the importance of early voting.

"Well, early voting is important because it is a convenient way for people to get to the polls," explains Deborah Silver, State Treasurer candidate.

"This gives everybody an opportunity if you work different shifts, you will be able to work it out and be able to get down here, and it's very important to get your vote in," adds Shelley Gardner, State Senate candidate.

Early voting runs through May 16th with the primary election on the 20th.
