Eastern Idaho Railroad Teams Up With T.F.S.D. To Improve Safety
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Eastern Idaho Railroad made a special donation to the Twin Falls School District on Thursday.
Donating 18 reflective safety vests for students patrolling crosswalks at Harrison Elementary.
Sean Crow from the railroad noticed that the students working district crosswalks are only equipped with stop signs.
And he felt that wasn't enough.
So that’s when Crow went to his bosses and together they came up with the idea of donating the safety vests.
“We had more vests that we had laying around and we decided… hey, we could afford to help the community out and improve the safety for these kids. Because some people don’t really pay attention to kids in the crosswalk as much as they should. They have reflective stripping on them, two different bright colors on them… I think they’ll work out great.”
Said Sean Crow from the Eastern Idaho Railroad
Those 18 vests will now be distributed to all of the other schools in the district.
The railroad says that the vests are just a small part of their continued effort to keep the public safe here in southern Idaho.
