Eric Snarr Wins Minidoka County Sheriff Republican Race

By KMVT News

Minidoka County, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Minidoka County Sheriff, Eric Snarr, has won the Republican race.

This is his first election.

He was appointed to the spot last year when Kevin Halverson resigned after being charged with misusing public funds.

Snarr says there is a major drug problem in the county.

The Republican promises to continue to fight for a drug-free community.

"We are focusing on zero drugs in the community, and I know that there is quite a drug problem in the Minidoka County. However, I am suppressing those drug issues. I know I’m never going to be able to take the drugs off the street completely, but I am suppressing them. I plan on offering the most excellent service that me and my team can do," he says.

Snarr has worked for the Sheriff's Office for 15 years.

Before that, he served in the U.S. Navy and attended the University of Idaho to earn a law enforcement degree.
