Farm Bureau Teaches Kids About Real Life Agriculture
Filer, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Twin Falls Farm Bureau has a new display at the Twin Falls County Fair.
Just east of the Ag Pavilion, kids of all ages can milk Maggie The Cow, who's willing to stand still, and won't kick anybody, because she's made of fiberglass. They also have the Moving Agriculture to the Classroom or MAC trailer. It helps kids find out where there food really comes from. Judy Woody with the Twin Falls County Farm Bureau says, "We also have a wheat module. We use the wheat grinder, we have them grind up the wheat, we show them what it looks like. We have a big wheat book that we show them and read to them. We also make wheat pancakes for them in the classroom. We have a few other modules along with it, too." Woody says plenty of kids at the fair stop by the Farm Bureau booth. She says America has a good food supply and it's inexpensive compared to many other countries. Aug. 31, 2012.
