Filer Students Jump Rope For The Heart

By Brittany Cooper

Filer, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Filer Elementary and Intermediate schools teamed up for a great cause.

Students have been collecting money for a fundraiser benefiting the American Heart Association. After two weeks, Friday was the end of their efforts, with the Jump Rope for Heart program.

These youngsters jumped rope in the gym as a reward for their good deeds.

Filer is no stranger to fundraising success. Last year the students raised $11,000.

Jodie Ferrell, PE and Technology Integration Teacher says, "for a small farm community, that's outstanding. We actually have one of the highest levels of participation in the state so we're really proud of that's a really good community service that the students get behind."

The Idaho Dairy Council provided milk for Friday's festivities and the Filer PTO donated the apples.
