Fire Burning South Of Declo

Declo, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Bureau of Land Management is responding to a fire that began at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, six miles south of Declo.

The lightning-caused Guinn Fire is approximately 175 acres at this time. There are 7 BLM and contract engines, 1 water tender, 1 dozer, 5 single engine air tankers, 2 helicopters and 1 air attack plane. The Declo Fire Department is also on scene.

Containment is expected for Sunday evening around ten and expected control time is Monday at 8:00 p.m.

The fire is burning in Juniper and grass and is not an imminent threat at this time.

Earlier the DFD was concerned about a structure protection for a nearby ranch, but resources established a fire line around the property to protect the structure.
