Buhl, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Buhl Fire Department responded to the report of a home on fire this morning. When they arrived at 3948 North and 1500 East they found heavy smoke pouring out of the structure. Fire Chief Mark Korsen said the fire was contained to one room in the northwest corner of the home. The fire was reported at 11:07 this morning and the Chief estimates it had been burning for about 10 minutes when they arrived. The department spent about 2 and a half hours on the scene Chief Korsen said. While the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time officials are not suspecting foul play.
There were people at the home when the fire was reported.
Damage to the structure is estimated to be at least $35,000. Two windows were damaged and a hole was cut in the roof to gain access to the attic, so the home is not livable, the Chief said. The Red Cross has been called to assist the family.
