Fire Destroys A Richfield Fire Truck

Richfield, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV) - A Richfield fire truck was destroyed by flames this Wednesday afternoon. Fire Chief Brandon Swainston said they responded to a fire that was reported around 11:30am, along highway 26 at milemarker 176. The chief said that while fighting the fire, one of their heavy brush trucks got high centered on a rock pile and trapped by flames. The truck is a total loss valued at $300,000. The wind turned and came back on the crew, the chief said. The fire on BLM and Private land burned 22 acres. The Bureau of Land management sent three engines to help battle the blaze. As of 5pm Wednesday, crews remain at the scene mopping up.
