Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Crews battling the Colorado Gulch fire continue to gain the upper hand. The incident commander believes they will have containment by Wednesday at 8pm with control at 8pm on Thursday. The wildfire has burned roughly 736 acres of mostly grass and brush. It’s believed the fire started by someone lighting fireworks. The fire was reported Sunday evening three miles west of Hailey.

Monday, crews reported extreme fire behavior with 20 foot flames that were wind driven causing the fire to bump the road.

At this time Croy Canyon Road is closed to non residential traffic. Colorado Gulch road at Broadford is closed to everyone and the Lions park is closed because of nearby Helicopter operations that continue in the area.
