Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Fire season is underway and firefighters have battled two brush fires the past two days in Twin Falls County.

"Fire season is looking bad so far, you can tell throughout the nation it's really early in the fire season and we've already have had some massive fires in the country” said Taylor Hunsaker, Public Information Officer, Rock Creek Fire.

Firefighters have had a busy week in the area.
Flames have taken over Kimberly and Twin Falls and the season has just begun.

Authorities have one message for citizens.

"Try not to burn; try not to play with anything fireworks. Any kind of fire starter anywhere near this dry ground” said Taylor Hunsaker, Public Information Officer, Rock Creek Fire.

Hunsaker explains, homeowners also need to clear brush around there property and if they plan to burn any land to check with authorities beforehand.

"Well we kind of did a little of pulling weeds and the cheek grass around the house, water our lawn. I think we will be more prepared now and just take a lot more time and try to get rid of the cheek grass and get rid of it” said Troy Williams, flames threatened home.

With high temperatures in the forecast every little spark could turn a field of sage brush into a homeowner’s biggest nightmare.
