Fire West Of Hailey Holding At 728 Acres

Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Firefighters on the lines of the Colorado Gulch fire say the blaze held at 728 acres throughout the day. The three hand crews and seven engine crews, worked to put in containment lines and mop up hot spots today.
The fire is currently not active, and according to Incident Commander Scott Wangsgard “Things are looking really good, and the crews are doing a great job securing the line. Tomorrow’s plan is to improve containment lines and continue monitoring the fire”. The hand crews worked up both sides of the fire today, while the engine crews continued to work the bottom edge of the fire, near the structures, securing the line and offering structure fire protection if needed. There is an estimated containment time of 8:00 p.m. tomorrow July 9, with a control of 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10.

The night shift crews will continue monitoring the fire and mopping up hot spots.
