Southern Idaho (KMVT-TV) – There are many district and surrounding resources working to control the fires on the Twin Falls District. Here is the latest information provided by the BLM. While the Oakley Reservoir and East Hollister fires are wrapping up, the Flat Top 2 fire continued to grow last night and has been updated at 25,000 acres. The Hotwell fire also picked up in activity this afternoon and crews are working to contain both of these fires. With hot, dry weather and many active fires on public lands as well as the forest, we ask that the public be extra cautious in these areas. Below is the fire update:

Oakley Reservoir

Resources – 3 Engines
Contained August 6th at 8:00 a.m.
Control – August 7th at 6:00 p.m.
Update – Due to the weather in the area yesterday and other fire activity on the district the control time was pushed back. Resources were also able to get a more accurate mapping of the fire and the size was re-established at 70 acres.

Control – August 10th at 8:00 p.m.
Update – With help from the wind the fire continued to grow yesterday and is currently still active at this time.
