Registration was twenty dollars per person or fifty dollars for a family. The YMCA served breakfast for participants at the canyon rim y following the race.

"It's just something that we wanted to offer the community as some additional fitness options, fitness races. There's not to many as far as not having to travel to far, something that's a little bit different, something that's fun and it's a great way to kick off your spring fitness too," said Eric Snow, Fitness Director for the YMCA.

The money that was raised from the race will help purchase equipment for the YMCA’s youth development program. The YMCA hopes to continue the St. Patrick's Day 5k run next year.
