Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking comment on big game seasons.

Officials say there's a lot of different proposals for 2014 including moving the opening date for deer season back to October 5th. Currently the season begins on the 10th.

Also, there's a plethora of elk hunting opportunities in the southern units.

"We've got a lot of elk that are interfacing with our private properties and we're having a lot of depredation issues and so we're looking at scoping that and providing a bunch of different opportunities for people to elk hunt down there," explains Kelton Hatch, IDFG.

The meetings begin as soon as Monday starting in Hailey at the Community Campus, followed by one the next day at the Burley Inn and finally on Wednesday, at the Idaho Fish and Game office in Jerome.

The open house meetings start at 5:30 in the evening.
