Former CSI President Honored at Retirement Reception

By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The College of Southern Idaho is saying goodbye to one of its own.

It was a packed house as Dr. Gerald Beck addressed faculty, students and friends one last time.

Beck announced his retirement in June after serving as president for eight years.

But, his service started long before that.

Beck began his CSI career in 1975 as a Certified Technical Instructor and moved his way up the ladder.

He held the positions of Dean of Continuing Education, Executive Vice President, and Chief Academic Officer.

Dr. Beck said, "We will be doing some traveling, we will continue to live here in the Twin Falls area. It's just a next stage in life and look at going different places, seeing different things and meeting old friends here in the valley still."

Dr. Beck also said he will focus on his health.
Dr. Jeff Fox is now the CSI president.
