Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV/KTWT-TV) A Jerome City employee went before the Jerome Urban Renewal Agency Thursday afternoon for assistance on a water master plan.
Public Works Director Walt Appell submitted for a water planning grant through the Department of Environmental Quality.
Appell wanted to see if the URA would help fund the match because of the agency's impact on the water system. The total of the grant is $90,000 with 45,000 coming from the DEQ.
According to Appell, the URA decided to wait on sending a letter to North Side Soil to see if they would split half.
"Because they made some sort of indication prior to all this they would cover half of the match go the grant. So they decided if North Side Soil wasn't going to help they would find a way to help fund me the $45,000," says Appell.
The URA plans to take up this matter at the next board meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 7th.
