Fundraiser Benefits Local Man's Fight Against Leukemia

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A fundraiser was held Saturday to benefit a local man fighting leukemia. Colton Hanson was diagnosed with leukemia in 2011. This past January he received a bone marrow transplant. His leukemia is in remission but he has since contracted GVHD also known as graft versus host disease.

The fundraiser Saturday which was held at the Bowladrome is part of Colton's crew's goal to raise fifty thousand dollars for his treatments. A car wash, yard sale and bowling were all part of the fundraiser.

"Basically we are just trying, we have a goal of raising fifty thousand dollars through this whole process and so we are just trying to get closer to that today," said Denise Hanson, Colton’s sister in law.

Colton's crew will be holding several more fundraisers this spring and summer to reach their goal. For more information or if you want to help, you can visit
