Get your Christmas tree chipped, donate to United Way

TWIN FALLS, ID (KMVT) There's also another way to recycle your Christmas tree – and help local non profit organizations at the same time.

The local chapter of the United Way is teaming up with Brett Dixon and Snake River Tree Services. Dixon says he'll chip your trees next Saturday, and give you the chance to make a donation to the United Way of South Central Idaho.

Bill Knopp, Executive Director of United Way, says, "They can call us at the United Way office at 733-4922. Or they can just show up at the D.L. Evans Bank parking lot at the corner of Blue Lakes Boulevard and Falls Avenue, Saturday January 7th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m."

Knopp says this year over 30 local organizations have signed up for more than 250 thousand dollars in grant money from the United Way. He hopes this Christmas tree chipping fundraiser will help close the financial gap.

That’s from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. next Saturday January 7th at the D.L. Evans Bank parking lot on Falls and Blue Lakes in Twin Falls.
