Glanbia Foods New Construction On Schedule

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The hard hats are on and the walls are going up in Old Towne Twin Falls. Crews are hard at work on two new buildings for Glanbia Foods. Here's an update on this $15 million investment in our community.

The three story future headquarters of Glanbia is going up in Twin Falls. But look just beyond it, and you can see the 13,000 square foot Cheese Innovation Center under construction as well. The new facility will enable the company to customize new cheese products for its customers.

David Perry, Director of Cheese Research and development at Glanbia Foods, says, "We already have had conversations with several customers, primarily in Asia, Mexico and other places throughout the world, who are excited to come in and use this research facility. And work side by side with us to help us develop the products they need in their markets so that they can be successful."

Glanbia's Cheese Innovation Center will enable the company to improve the flavor of cheese. The company will be experimenting with including different things in the cheeses and producing cheeses that melt appropriately or do what the customers need.

Perry says, "To do complete research, to not only make cheese, but understand how it functions and works for our customers. And also explore a lot of other end use applications that currently we don't have the capability to do."

Construction for the Cheese Innovation Center is on schedule, and he expects the building to be completed by next summer. He says they hope to open the doors sometime next fall.

Perry says, "Probably July for completion and moving in, and end of September for customers coming in."
