Gooding, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Three Magic Valley schools received Go On' grants through the JA and Kathryn Albertson Foundation.

Gooding High School, Buhl Middle School and Kimberly High School were among 27 schools across Idaho receiving grants that totaled $860,000.

Officials say 52 schools participated in the request for proposal process.

Schools had to form a team to develop a school–wide plan for how they would create a Go On culture and use data to measure their efforts.

The winning teams attended a Go On summer institute on the Boise State University campus.

We caught up with Gooding's principal to see what the school hopes to accomplish.

"We're going to do college visits and campus visits and get them to take the Compass Test over at CSI, all of our eleventh graders will do that again. So they have the opportunity to move on. A lot of them just don't think they can do that and so we're going to try to help them realize they can," says Chris Comstock, Gooding High School Principal.

Comstock says they plan to do parent nights for scholarships, improve overall communication with parents and kids as well as purchase a number of I–Pads.
