Gooding, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The Gooding County Fair is under way this week, with the rodeo kicking off Thursday evening.
The carnival, the food, and the live stock is what brings the community together.
A new group has banded together to volunteer and help out in the town of Gooding.
The Gooding Volunteer Group formed about a month ago and is working on one small project at a time.
Its current venture is to raise money for new park equipment and is holding a raffle at the fair.
Over fifty prizes from various donors are up for grabs.
Hailey Dixon from the Gooding Volunteer Group says,
"We want to get some newer toys for kids of all ages so that the toddlers can play and everyone can get involved. we're hoping to get some toys, some of the handicap accessible toys so that kids from the I.S.D.B. can also come down and play with their friends and their family, so it's not just for the kids of this community, but for the kids that fly in from other communities as well."
The Gooding Volunteer Group has a booth set up near the front entrance of the fair and would like to encourage everyone to stop by and grab a raffle ticket.
