Gooding Holds Town Hall Meeting To Discuss Water Future
Gooding, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Thursday night, the city of Gooding held a town hall meeting to discuss the future of irrigation water in the area.
For over 75 years the city of Gooding has relied in gravity driven irrigation for both agriculture and city water use.
But in those 75 years that system has begun to deteriorate to the point of replacement.
This Thursday a town hall meeting was held and a proposed $5,000,0000 bond election was presented to residents.
That bond would go to build three new ground water wells and upgrade water lines.
The bond is scheduled for a vote this upcoming November 5th.
The city will hold two more town hall meetings, the first on October 2nd and again on October 29th.
