Gooding Hospital Receives $10,000 Grant
Gooding, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A local hospital is the recipient of a $10,000 grant.
Susan G. Komen Idaho designated this funding to the mammography department at North Canyon Medical Center.
The hospital and foundation have a long–standing history, totaling $70,000 in grant funding.
Idaho ranks last in the nation for women over 40 getting their annual mammograms.
The funding allows North Canyon to offer breast cancer services to those who cannot afford them.
"We work with them. We can do screening, and diagnostic mammograms here in our facility, we can also do breast ultrasounds. And so if a patient needs a breast imaging service and they qualify, we are more than happy to do that here for them," adds Jamie Ramsey, a registered mammographer.
The mammography team at North Canyon consists of three registered mammographers and a bilingual radiologist.
