Gooding Sheriff Discusses Regional Jail Possibility
Gooding, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Gooding County Sheriff Shawn Gough spoke to constituents about a regional jail.
The sheriff says they received a letter of intent from Colorado investors, but the investors want guarantees. Gough is working on getting contracts from other agencies to make the regional jail a reality. Gooding County only has 19 inmates now and would rent 25 beds at the regional jail. A new jail would help lessen the distance traveled for nearby agencies with overflow. The bigger facility he says would house more people for less money.
