GOODING, Idaho (KMVT-TV) WEL companies received a nice "welcome" to the Magic Valley. State dignitaries, community members and the public were on hand to a get a glimpse of a new facility in Gooding.

Bruce Tielens, CEO and President of WEL says, "we're big into logistics so we're looking at doing warehousing, trucking rail, whatever the customer would need, going to any part of the county and being a value added service by doing any distribution they might have."

The new 120,000 square ft. food grade building is the 14th U.S. facility for the company.

And Governor Otter knew right away the owners of WEL companies were interested in Gooding.

Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter says, "we have a code name that we put on every one of the potential folks that want to come into the state...they found in Idaho and found in the Magic Valley exactly what they want."

Gooding will serve as the prime location to store and transport dairy and food products to its customers.

Tielens says, "Southern Idaho is a huge part of the dairy industry currently in this country so we decided to stop here."

WEL is looking to hire 20 to 25 employees and are hoping for steady growth into the future.

"We completed the first phase, then we an see more of the things to come. I don't want to use numbers," says Tielens.

And for Governor Otter, he hopes other companies decide to jump on board with WEL.

Otter says,"you can expect other companies now to say where did WEL go."

More companies, means more opportunities for jobs, making Idahoans very happy.
