Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A local ski area resort is rebounding after this summer's Beaver Creek Fire.

Rotarun Ski Resort in Hailey saw significant fire damage including its snow fences. However fire crews worked hard to spare the lodge and lifts, for which the residents are very grateful.

On Saturday, locals participated in the Feel the Burn, Heal the Burn event.

This promotes healthy lungs and legs as participants raced up the 440 foot vertical slope. The fund raiser and fence raising is a great opportunity for everyone to come together and bounce back from the fires.

"You know we have been really lucky, we have had the rain and it really hasn't eroded the mountain very much. And the grass has all come back. I mean if you look at the face it's beautifully green. So we are actually going to be in pretty good shape on the hill this winter in terms of terrain," explains Jesse Foster, Rotarun Ski Hill.

Rotarun offers season passes, night skiing, after school programs for local children and special event accommodations.

Opening day is December 19th with a free pancake breakfast and lift ticket.
