Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) In Tuesday’s election, voters in the City of Hailey will decide on a bond issue regarding the sewer treatment facility.

This will allow the city to update part of the plant that was not updated when a new plant was built in 2000.

If the bond is passed, average water users will see a projected rate increase of $3.50 a month.

The total estimated project cost is 6.5 million dollars.

Community Development Director Micah Austin explains the need for improvements…

"If the City of Hailey wants to continue to be the city we want it to be, it has to invest in its infrastructure and make sure we have the capacity to grow and for economic development."

The revenue bond will spread the cost of the project over 20 years.

A simply majority of voters is required in order for it to pass.
