Stanley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - The lightning caused Halstead fire near Stanley has grown to 93,720 acres and is 5% contained. Officials say minimal spread was observed in the fine fuels due to Sunday’s precipitation and an increase in the humidity. Construction of dozer line south of East Basin is well underway. The hot shot crews will also be extending the burn out operations from Kelly Creek to Road 40. Dozers and feller-bunchers are nearing completion of the line to the south boundary of the Potato Fire. Crews will continue to monitor and hold fire lines above Valley Creek and below Basin Butte. Due to the fire, the following campgrounds are now closed: Beaver Creek, Lola Creek, Marsh Creek Transfer, O’Brien, Josephus Lake, and campgrounds along the Salmon River from Lower Stanley to Indian Riffles. 463 personnel are currently working the fire scene.
