Declo, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Declo Days was in full swing Saturday and with it, comes the annual Hammer Run.

Saturday morning marked the 10th annual Hammer Run and about 120 competitors got up early for the event.

It kicked off at 7 am and runners could choose between a 5K or a 5 mile course.

The run has been around for longer than 10 years, but was renamed in honor of a local athlete.

"It was named after a local resident here, Brad Matthews, who was killed in a car accident many years ago and he was an outstanding athlete here and his nickname was Hammer," adds Nicki Dowdle, the event's race organizer.

Part of the proceeds of the event go towards the Brad Matthews Memorial Track Meet.

Other Declo Days activities included a breakfast, games, a parade, lunch and much more.
