Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) An annual event to help veterans is underway in Twin Falls.
The Harley’s Heroes event kicked off Friday at the Snake Harley Davidson.
In 2010 the Harley Davidson Foundation made its second one million dollar grant to the Disabled American Veterans or DAV.
The mobile service program brings free veteran services to Harley Davidson dealerships.
Since the program started seven years ago, Harley’s Heroes has helped tens of thousands of veterans to secure benefits from many government agencies.
"You also have the vet center here today, so if they want to talk about counseling maybe for service related mental health issues, they can do that. At the DAV we are here to support them, like I said, help them file for their educational benefits, their disability comp or pension benefits, and as well as their health care," explains service officer Brian Alspach.
The event includes a concert and food that goes Friday night until nine and a barbecue Saturday starting at noon.
