Hazard Cottonwood Trees Being Removed In Sun Valley
Sun Valley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) This week, BLM officials will start trimming and removing hazard cottonwood trees within the Sun Peak Picnic Area and Lake Creek Trailhead.
While the work is being performed, expect at least some partial closures of these areas. Officials have identified these trees as a threat to public safety. John Kurtz, Outdoor Recreation Planner says, "a lot of the Cottonwoods are in declining health. Our primary purpose is to provide recreational opportunities, but in a safe environment as we need to go up there and address some trees that pose a safety issue to the public and facilities on site." Work is expected to last a week. The BLM anticipates work to take about four days at Sun Peak and two days at Lake Creek. For more information, please call John Kurtz at 732–7200. Comments ( |
