Health Foundation Director Retires After 28 Years
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The man who's headed up the St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation for the last 28 years, says it's been "a pretty good run."
A retirement party was held today for Larry Baxter. He began his career at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in 1985. In the last 28 years, the Health Foundation managed to raise more than $30 million to support health care programs at the hospital that became St. Luke's. But this year was good, too.
Retiring Executive Director Larry Baxter says, "We raised over $2.8 million, it was the best year ever for the foundation, so it's been a really good year. Each year gets a little tougher though, but it produces more money every year for the patients here in the region."
Baxter says his career highlights include a grant to support the "CARES" program, and the recent million dollar gift for the inpatient rehabilitation unit.
