Hitting The Ice Rink In Sun Valley

By KMVT News

Sun Valley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) As more and more people make their way to Sun Valley Resort to take part in some world class skiing. Others are going for a little bit slower paced activity.

For over 80 years the Ice Skating Rink at the Sun Valley Resort was welcomed presidents, actors, world class figure skaters and even your average everyday person.

The rink, which was first built in the late 1930s, is home to not only local skaters looking for a good time, but also plays host to many shows on ice throughout the year.

"This is one of the only outdoor ice rinks that's uncovered and open in the world year round. We have an outdoor and an indoor rink. So it's a great amenity for families and everybody that comes here." Said Jack Sabbach the director of marketing and P.R. for the Sun Valley Resort.

The rink is open to the general public 7 days a week.

Hours are 10 am to 8pm.

And if you don't have your own skates... don't worry.

The resort has everything you need to hit the ice.

Tune in Friday for KMVT news at 6 and we will take a closer look at the science behind what makes this world class ice shine.
