Holiday Donations Up At One Twin Falls Thrift Store

By Joey Martin

Twin Falls. Idaho (KMVT-TV) With Christmas in the books and the New Year just around the corner, more and more people in Twin Falls are making donations to their local thrift stores.

Normally, this time of the year, thrift stores across the country see an overall increased in total numbers of items donated.

And here in Twin Falls it's the same story.

Since Christmas ended three days ago, the Idaho Youth Ranch has seen an increase of donations that have almost doubled.

We spoke with Area Thrift Store Manager, Robert Speer (SPEAR) from the Youth Ranch this afternoon and asked him why the number of donations seems to skyrocket at the end of every year.

“The biggest reason would be that the Idaho Youth Ranch is the only organization in Idaho that offers both state and a federal return. So that’s huge… that draws a lot of donors in. we can always use more clothing, we can always use general merchandise… knick knacks, that type of things… electronics. Really anything donors would like to donate to us.” Said Robert Speer, Area Thrift Store Manager.

If you find yourself overwhelmed by the amount of clutter in your house, and you would like to take advantage of a unique tax break.

Make your donations to the Idaho Youth Ranch.

The Twin Falls Store is located at 162 Main Avenue south in Old town.

Hours are from around 8 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon.
