Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV )

The Hope Garden in Hailey is in need of volunteers.

The garden is a project of the Hunger Coalition, with harvested food going to the local food bank.

It sits on the site of the old county jail at the corner of Walnut and First Avenue and is managed and fully operational by volunteer efforts.

Blaine County Commissioner Larry Schoen notes, "It's been really successful. The food out of there is wonderful. It's a productive garden and it involves many stakeholders, we're very proud of it."

Volunteers are encouraged to help out Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 in the evening.

In addition, a wish list for the garden includes such items as a picnic table, potting table, bird bath, and bird seed.
