How Technology Defines Relationships
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) With a holiday dedicated to romance being just a day away, how does technology impact the way we communicate?
From FaceTime to texting, many couples use this type of technology to show affection. Handwritten notes and cards might be a thing of the past in some relationships. We spoke with area residents on how they feel technology impacts their life. Twin Falls resident Melanie Athay says, "I really love FaceTime. I have a daughter that lives in Manhattan and she had a baby the first part of December so I'm able to FaceTime her and see my little granddaughter often." "Most people do a bunch of texting and you can't determine emotion in that, in a proper way or facial expressions, what things mean and I think it gets extremely misinterpreted sometimes," states Joe Lundy of Kimberly. Carly Athay of Twin Falls says, "my friends are in a different college that I am so it's good to be able to communicate with them." Technology has taken dating to a whole new level. Mobile social apps such as Blendr, Grindr and Plenty of Fish use your phone's GPS feature to find potential mates. Comments ( |
