How To Keep Your Balance

Gooding, Idaho (KMVT-TV) If you're a kid, spinning around until you're dizzy can be a lot of fun. But if you're an adult, that may "not" be the case. The good news is that physical therapy can help you fight dizziness.

Physical therapist Jonathan Jackson, DPT, says, "Just staying active is one good one, that keeps the inner ear stimulated, and also keeps your muscles strong enough to keep you on balance. And then just being smart about where you live, and the things you have lying around the house."

Jackson says one of the most common reasons people over 75 go to the doctor is because they're dizzy. Jackson says you also need to make sure you don't have dog toys scattered around the house. And keeping your house in good repair will prevent you from tripping over a damaged step or loose carpet.
