Idaho Free Movie Night Each Tuesday In July In Heyburn

By Joey Martin

Heyburn, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) For the entire month of July, each Tuesday evening in the city of Heyburn, it's movie night at Riverside Park.

A committee gathers the community together to show movies to everyone who wants to come totally free of charge.

The films are aimed in general for children and families.

Where this differs from other towns which offer similar free movie nights is in how the films are selected.

In Heyburn, the choice is actually made by the residents.

Idaho Movie Nights Representative Stegen Phillips says, "They get to vote what movie plays the week prior to its showing on facebook, at Idaho Movie Nights is the facebook page."

Movie night has been a huge success with the average attendance ranging between 300 to 500 people.

The final movie night is this Tuesday at 9:30pm and the film choice has yet to be determined.

It's between 'Wreck-It-Ralph' and 'Despicable Me.'

You have until Monday evening to vote your choice.

The winner will be posted Tuesday morning on facebook.
