Idaho Lawmakers Moving Forward On 'Do Not Call' Law

By Andrew Reed

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Idaho lawmakers are moving forward with the do not call law.

The House of Representatives voted 65 to 5 for the state to lift a 13-year-old restriction on barring phone and cable TV companies from calling existing customers to market new products.

Customers can still ask to be put on the do not call list.

"A cable company was not restricted about calling their customers to advertise something they had. Telephone companies wanted the same option to call their current customers and that changed the dynamic for me and didn't see anything wrong with that,” said Representative Clark Kauffman.

The bill is headed to the senate for a vote.
