Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Idaho Power is offering you a chance to get rid of those old refrigerators or freezers you are no longer using. The company's see y later refrigerator program is a free and easy way to recycle the old appliances.

Idaho Power has teamed up with JACO Environmental. JACO will pick up the fridge or freezer for you. Just make sure the items are easy to get to in your house. You will also receive thirty dollars for recycling your old fridge or freezer.

"We've had this what we call see ya later recycling refrigerator and freezer program since 2009. And the reason we initiated this program was those old lime green or harvest gold refrigerators that you may have hanging around in your garage or basement will typically use two to three times the electricity that a new one will,” said Daniel Olmstead, Community Relations Director for Idaho Power.

The refrigerator or freezer must be working in order for it to be picked up as part of the program. Idaho power has collected and recycled more than ten thousand units since the program was started.
