Idaho Republicans Flock To Twin Falls For State Convention
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Every two years, delegates from both political parties have a state convention in Idaho. Today and tomorrow, the Republican Party is meeting at the College of Southern Idaho for their convention. This morning delegates broke into committees to hammer out their party's platform, rules and resolutions, and nominations.
Rep. Maxine Bell, (R) District 25, says, "There are about 500 delegates here from all across the state of Idaho. They decide on what the platform is, basically get together and visit, find out what's going on. But it's the state platform that I think both parties work on on their conventions." Bell says tomorrow's schedule at CSI includes general sessions for this state GOP convention. She says the number one issue for Republicans is always about local control, and finding the balance when it comes to the federal government's involvement in local affairs. June 22, 2012.
