Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Two people were injured following a two vehicle pileup along I-84 near Jerome this Monday morning. The Idaho State Police say they were called to the scene of the accident just after 11:30 am just outside of Jerome near milemarker 165. Police say Bernadette T. Nelson 50, of Pocatello was driving a Chevrolet van when she attempted to make an illegal U-Tern through an interstate emergency crossover. Emily Oterhout-Priest, 67 of Meridian was westbound in a 2012 Ford Escape. Osterhout-Priest’s vehicle struck Nelson’s vehicle after it pulled in front of her.

Nelson and Osterhout-Priest were transported to St. Luke’s in Twin Falls by ground ambulance for medical treatment. As the investigation continues, authorities say alcohol is a factor in the accident.
