UPDATE: Child Killed Following Interstate Crash
UPDATE: Idaho State Police say a child has died following a crash in Jerome County on Interstate 84.
Idaho State Police say around one o'clock, 53–year old Rebecca Lock of Twin Falls was headed east in the right lane, driving a Chrysler Pacifica. Meanwhile 46–year old Boise resident Alladin Umarov who was driving a Toyota Camry was in the left lane.
Lock tried to change lanes. Umarov tried to avoid contact and ended up driving off the interstate. His car came back onto the roadway and hit Lock's vehicle. Police say Lock's vehicle rolling several times into the median. Umarov's vehicle went off the right side of the road way through a fence.
Umarov and Lock were transported to St. Luke's Magic Valley. A child in Lock's car died at the scene. The left lane was blocked for two hours.
ORIGINAL STORY: Idaho State Police is investigating a fatal crash involving two vehicles. Emergency crews have blocked one of the eastbound lanes on Interstate 84 at milepost 179.
According to dispatchers, the accident happened at 1:00 p.m. and at least one vehicle is in the median. One eastbound lane is slowed, but all others are open.
