Jerome Cheese's Future With Waste Water Facility

By KMVT News

(KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV) - A major manufacturer out of Jerome is being acquired by Canada's largest dairy

Agropur, announced Tuesday that they will be signing a deal with Jerome Cheese Company, a division of Davisco Foods International Cooperative.

According to the Davisco Web Site, Jerome Cheese ships more than 15 truckloads of cheese, and receives 90 plus truckloads of raw milk.
The acquisition will not result in any layoffs. However, there have been talks in the past about Jerome Cheese Company pulling out of Jerome's Waste Water Facility.

We were curious if things had changed since the acquisition.

"Previous to the acquisition, Jerome Cheese Company had been exploring the possibility of treating their own waste, and having their own waste water treatment plant,” said Mike Williams, Jerome City Administrator. “According to their management, that hasn't changed as a result of the acquisition."

The acquisition is said to last through August 1st.
