Jerome City Council Meets With Urban Renewal Agency

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) In Jerome Thursday afternoon the city council met with the Urban Renewal Agency to discuss the city's future.
The URA is proposing a few different areas that it has been evaluated for growth.
Currently there is one area which is the South East Industrial Plan.
It is now bringing in a new plan that will cover the downtown area.
Executive director of the Urban Renewal Agency Zoe Monahan explains the goals for the project.
"The URA is really there as a tool for the economic development if you will. So we can assist with infrastructure improvements things like that to make the lot ready for development. So hopefully encourages additional businesses to site within the downtown area."
Before the areas can be adapted they will go through a public hearing.
