Jerome City Council, Staff Ponder Sewer Rate Structure

By Jay Michaels

Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) The Jerome City Council members and city staff teamed up tonight for a workshop related to sewer costs in that community. The session was designed to hammer out a new sewer rate structure for city customers.

Robert Culver, President of the Jerome City Council, says, "What it’s going to cost the residential, the industrial, and commercial, so we can all be on the same page. As far as going in, we’ll know how to explain it to the public when we have our open meetings."

The Jerome City Council and staff members hope to put a sewer bond on the May ballot. However, right now they’re still waiting for a suggested dollar amount from the blue ribbon committee. They’ll need to do that before they can pick an official date for the bond election.
